About Green River Area FCU

Green River Area Federal Credit Union has been serving its members since 1959 when a group of employees from Green River Steel began the efforts to form the credit union for employees and families.

After having success for many years in the Owensboro area Green River then reached out in 1985 and 1986 and merged with two existing credit unions in the Henderson area, Accuride and the City of Henderson. These mergers allowed us to continue on-going growth and be positioned for future success. In more recent years there have been more mergers with other small credit unions. We are now operating in Daviess, Henderson and Muhlenberg counties with over 90 sponsor groups and serving over 5,000 members.

The Credit Union is a true representation of the "people helping people" philosophy unique to all credit unions, providing members with a safe place to save money and obtain credit.

The Credit Union is owned and operated by its members. Annually, the membership elects individuals from its own ranks to serve as members of the Board of Directors.
